Lago delle Baste

The Lago delle Baste (literally “Baste Lake”, 2150 meters above sea level) is a tiny but very suggestive alpine lake of the Dolomites UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site located on the charming Mondeval Plateau. Geographically, the Lago delle Baste lies in the Val Fiorentina (Fiorentina Valley) in High Agordino, whereas institutionally this attraction is located within the boundaries of the Municipality of San Vito di Cadore (Province of Belluno, Veneto Region). The Lago delle Baste is surrounded by the maginficent peaks of the 1st of the 9 official Dolomitic Systems, the Pelmo – Croda da Lago Dolomites system.
