Dolomite Stage of the Giro d’Italia 2023
Longarone – Tre Cime di Lavaredo
26 May 2023 | Dolomite Mountains, Italy
The renowned and eagerly-awaited Giro d’Italia returns in the Heart of the Dolomites UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site on Friday 26 May 2023 with a breathtaking dolomitic competition on a race track that winds through some of the most popular and representative places of the Pale Mountains.
As it always is, the Dolomite stage of the Giro d Italia is going to be one of the (if not the) highlights of the 2023 edition, a tremendous slog with tons of adrenaline and, of course, with all the beautiful Dolomite peaks of the Province of Belluno – You can’t miss it!
The start of the 19th stage of the Giro d’Italia 2023 is set in Longarone, a Municipality of the Province of Belluno, best known for being the operational seat of many major eyewear producers, besides of course for its beautiful and wild mountain landscape. We are here among the peaks of what the UNESCO Dolomites Foundation has named System 3 – Pale di San Martino, San Lucano, Vette Feltrine e Dolomiti Bellunesi – a long name for what is actually the widest of the 9 Dolomite Systems, with heavy-weights like Civetta, Agner, the Pala Groups and many more.
The race continues then with some of the most iconic Alpine mountain passes of the Dolomites, Passo Giau on top of a list of titans; a great spectacle with a super high competitive level for cycling fans or simple curious tourists passing by. The most magnificent Dolomite background (the above-mentioned Pale di San Martino, the Agordino and Zoldano Dolomites, the Marmolada Group, the Northern Dolomites… too many to be named here!) will accompany the excellence of the Italian and International pro cyclists racing for the Giro d’Italia pink jersey.
The 19th stage of the Giro d Italia 2023 is battled on 183 km (113 ml) with an exhausting 5,400 m (3.3 ml) altitude gap through the Provinces of Belluno and Bozen – a celebration of the World Heritage you are invited to!

The Giro d’Italia 2023 comes finally back in a big way!
