Agordino
The pulsating Heart of the Dolomites
The Agordino is an area of the highest natural value: the most interesting feature that this place offers in terms of natural attractions are, of course, the several peaks of the Dolomites UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, mountains that can be admired easily in all the Agordino territory.
To the South, the Agordino area is characterized by the presence of the mountain ranges of the 3rd of the 9 official Dolomites Systems, that is the Pale di San Martino – San Lucano – Vette Feltrine – Dolomiti Bellunesi System. In central position of the Agordino area we found the peaks of the 1st Dolomites System, that is the Pelmo – Croda da Lago System. In the northernmost part of the Agordino area, guests can admire the peaks of the 2nd Dolomites System, that is the Marmolada System, and of the 5th System, that is the Northern Dolomites System. It’s easy to realize how many peaks are present in the Agordino area, just to cite a few of them: Mount Agner and Pale di San Lucano (Pale di San Martino), Mount Moiazza and Mount Civetta (Agordino and Zoldano Dolomites), Marmolada, Focobon (Pale di San Martino), Pelmo, Sella, Settsass, Sass de Stria, and many others. To find out more about the Dolomites in the Agordino area, you can check out our section “The Dolomites in the Agordino“, in which we describe all the mountain ranges in details. Here below, on the other hand, we’ll talk you about other must-see natural attractions you can find in the Heart of the Dolomites.
In addition to the Dolomites UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, guests can enjoy other amazing natural attractions: the Lake of Alleghe, the Serrai di Sottoguda, El Col, Valfredda, the Belluno Dolomites National Park, the Val di Gares and many others.
