Ice climbing in the heart of the Dolomites
Ice climbing is a thrilling sport which is very popular in the Dolomites UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. In Agordino, ice climbing is practiced mainly in the Serrai di Sottoguda gorge; in winter indeed the steep walls of this natural canyon are covered with a thick layer of ice that, in the coldest months of the year (January and February) allow practicing this particular kind of climbing in relative safety.
